Robert Half Finance and Accounting are recruiting for a Commercial Financial Controller for a rapidly growing VC backed retail business based in Portsmouth.

The Role

 

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller role will suit a qualified ACA / CA accountant preferably with previous experience as Financial Controller in a £50 million plus multi-channel retail business. You will need to have strong analytical skills and experience of influencing commercial people using strong communication skills and a positive personality. In addition to having responsibility for the preparation of accounts and management information you will also get involved with Legal, HR and Treasury.

Also, you will require good systems knowledge as you will be involved in the scoping and implementation of new finance and reporting systems.

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Setting up KPIs/Reporting to ensure that all business management has transparency over the financial performance of all aspects of the business and ensure delivery of financial reports and analyses thereon to help manage and grow the business
  • Produce accurate financial and management reports to support business decision-making
  • Implement, develop and improve internal financial systems and controls to support business growth and diversification
  • Involvement in all business system enhancement projects to ensure they include appropriate improvement to financial and operational controls
  • Maintain accurate financial projection models and advise on the financial impact of prospective business proposals
  • Increasing the size of the Finance Department to ensure reporting and controls expand and improve in line with business growth and diversification.

 

 

Wiggle is looking for a Financial Controller will is confident, a self starter, motivated, energetic, proactive and organised. The successful candidate will also be commercial and strategic minded with a proven work history preferably from a large retail background.

 

Salary & Benefits

 

The Financial Controller job is based in Portsmouth and has a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 plus benefits.
