The Company

DONG Energy is an innovative and highly acquisitive group in the energy and power markets and has been operating in the UK since 2001. Dong Energy is the developer of an 850 MW gas-fired power station being built near Newport in South Wales, and is the market leader in offshore wind power generation.

 

The Role

Robert Half is working with Dong Energy to recruit a Financial Accountant who will be wholly responsible for the reporting and financial accounting activities for entities within the UK Power division. You will be tasked with the establishment / improvement of financial systems and processes to deliver robust, auditable accounting records for the entities under your control.

 

You will be required to forge relationships with the Danish HQ and external advisors to ensure delivery of a premium service across the Group's UK business.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Completion of month end processes for all DONG Energy Power UK entities in accordance with group timetables.
  • Preparation of annual / half year accounts including liaison with group accounting, external auditors and other advisors as appropriate. 
  • Review and develop financial systems and processes to improve the quality of accounting records and reports.

 

The Person

You will be a fully qualified Accountant with considerable statutory reporting experience, preferably in accordance with both UK GAAP and IFRS. You will be a technical specialist with experience of more complex areas of financial reporting normally associated with larger businesses and groups and will be results driven with a focus on providing a quality service.
